Palo santo, which translates to “holy wood”, is a sacred tree native to South America.
For centuries, indigenous communities in countries like Ecuador and Peru have used palo santo for spiritual rituals and holistic practices. When burned, the wood releases a distinctive sweet, woody fragrance often described as citrusy and minty with hints of pine.
Using palo santo is an experience in itself. You begin by lighting the end of a small stick, letting it burn for about 30 seconds before blowing out the flame. The smoldering embers produce an aromatic smoke that you can wave around your space or hold in one spot. Scented Candles
Scented candles, on the other hand, have a more varied history.

Candles come in various sizes and burn times, which can range from 20 to over 100 hours, depending on the brand and quality. Many people find the soft glow of a candle comforting, adding an extra layer of ambiance to a space.
