Balaji Chandan incense is one of my favorite low-cost sandalwood incense sticks. These have a strong scent, and it has a bit of depth. To me, it smells dark in a sort of way. I occasionally detect hints of molasses and spices. The sandalwood is definitely the main act, although these incense sticks definitely have some sort of fragrance oil on them.
It smells delightful, but can sometimes be a bit overpowering. When I burn this, I find it better to keep a door open. It’s plenty strong and having a draft going seems to actually enhance the smell of these incense sticks. It allowed me to pick up a few more nuances which were otherwise relatively unnoticeable to me.
They make some other products with this same fragrance, such as perfume oils and soaps.
