Ways to Put Out Incense Sticks
There are several different ways you can put out an incense stick.
Run the Incense Stick Under Water
The most simple way to put out an incense stick is probably by running the lit end under water in the sink. The water will extinguish the flame immediately and eliminate any potential fire risks. This is probably the most effective and recommended method. However, if there is still a fair amount of the incense stick left then you may want to use another method so you can easily light it over.
Break the Tip Off
Another easy method for putting out incense sticks is to break the lit tip off on a fire-proof surface. Once the tip is off of the incense stick, the incense stick will stop burning and the lit end will burn away.
Be Careful
Always keep in mind that incense is lit and very hot.
Here are some other safety tips you want to keep in mind while burning incense.
- Keep in mind incense is hot. You should never try to touch the lit portion of an incense stick. Please be careful.
- Always keep your burning incense away from flammable textiles, particularly curtains and tapestries.
- Make sure you burn your incense on a fire-safe surface.
