Today I am going to be reviewing Nandita Dehn Al Oudh incense sticks.
Nandita is a popular incense producer from India. They actually make a lot of good incense. Their stuff generally isn’t to bad. Generally I would have no problem recommending them.
Oudh is just another one of the many terms for agarwood or aloeswood. It’s a traditional tree resin incense which is probably most popular in Japan. The highest quality of which can often fetch a high price. It’s rare to find a good oudh incense for a cheap price due to the exorbitant cost of the raw material.
Anyways, having tried Nandita’s Dehn Al Oudh incense sticks, I find that they do not smell primarily of oudh. They have a nice rich, musky sort of scent, rich in sandalwood and halmaddi, but light on the oudh. Again, this is likely due to the exorbitant cost raw aloeswood. It is likely they weren’t able to include much, or any of the raw material into these incense sticks. I assume they used a cheaper oudh fragrance oil of sorts.
Don’t get me wrong, for the price, you can’t go wrong with these, but if you’re seeking an authentic oudh fragrance, then you may want to look elsewhere.
