Peruvian Palo Santo Smudge Sticks
For hundreds of years, wood from the palo santo tree has been harvested, used and appreciated for it’s unique fragrance, which is often considered to be a crisp, entrancing scent with elements of wood, citrus, and musk.
Growing in rare spurts along the coast of South America, in regions such as Ecuador and Peru, the tree’s aromatic properties were hidden from the rest of the world since ancient times. However, we are now helping to bring the benefits of palo santo wood to the masses with our sustainably-harvested palo santo smudge sticks.
The name itself, “palo santo” means “Holy Wood” when translated. Palo santo was of deep cultural significance to some regions of South America. Shamans and healers in South America have looked to this sacred wood for hundreds of years to aid with spiritual healing and energy realignment.
For many people in the modern era, it is perfect for meditation, relaxation, and thoughtful introspection.
