Saraike Kunbutsudo Winter Daphne Incense Review

Memories of Japan Incense Sticks

This Winter Daphne incense stick comes from Saraike Kunbutsudo, an incense manufacturer that, to my knowledge, is not very well represented in the United States of America.

The product description states that this incense is:

A soothing, refined scent featuring a distinctive “just-lit” aroma.

Main Ingredients: Daphne
Length: 5.5″
Burn Time: Approximately 30 minutes.
Company: Saraike Kunbutsudo

Review

I can’t say that the daphne flower is something I am very familiar with as a single floral note, but from hanging out around my grandmother’s garden as a kid, I am pretty sure this is a white flower with a bit of a pungent odor.

If you know what a white flower typically smells like, then you can probably imagine the scent of these incense sticks.

Additionally, there is something very weird at play here. You know that smell when you first light an incense stick? That seems to be a constant theme added onto the daphne flower note. It’s interesting, yet a bit odd.

It’s enjoyable. Not bad at all.
