It is a healing herb and has found a prominent place in the use of prayers and rituals.
Some tribes even believed the scent of sweetgrass could drive away evil spirits and keep them at bay.
It has a bright, sweet, citrus-type scent.
The Latin name for sweetgrass is “hierchloe odorata” which translates to “sacred grass”.
It grows throughout America, Canada, and even Europe.
It is also known as ‘Holy Grass’ in the UK.
