Today’s review is Vampire Blood incense sticks.

Surely these are targeted towards a specific group of people, as the packaging has a very dark look to it, with spatters of color, resembling blood across it.

Normally I would by a non-novelty themed incense, but these are actually quite popular, so I figured I would add a review on these Vampire Blood incense sticks to the review section of my blog.

The product description for this product states:

Vampire blood is harvested through an advanced process in which vampires are slowly bled. The unearthly qualities of the blood are isolated and extracted into a premium incense. Some vampires were harmed during this process but none met true death. This is a rare premium extract of Vampire Blood that is sure to heighten the senses and create inner sensations of nirvana.

Although the description is fun, it is also a bit unnerving.

I have burned these incense sticks before. They are an interesting incense formulation. I am pretty sure that they took a nag champa base (which comprises of sandalwood and either champak or frangipani notes) and added dragons blood resin to it. What you end up with is a nag champa fragrance with an intriguing dark, earthy, and musky aroma alongside it.

These incense sticks have gone through more then one factory change over the years and they do smell a little different then they used to.

Unfortunately, I have a couple of boxes of this incense that I bought from a reputable shop and they are not cheap. The incense does not stay lit! It burns for about 10 minutes and goes out. Would never buy again. Wondering if that’s why they stopped making it?
