Today I am going to be reviewing Shoyeido Gentle Smile incense sticks.
Table of Contents
The product description says:
The peace and open-heartedness of a smile inspires Misho, one of Shoyeido’s most beloved creations.
The fragrance profile supposedly consists of primarily agarwood, cinnamon, and clove.
Gentle Smile Incense Review
This is the second time I have had the pleasure of burning Shoyeido’s Gentle Smile incense sticks.
It’s an enjoyable incense stick which certainly does lead one to produce a ‘gentle smile’.
The way the spices are blended with the agarwood make the agarwood fragance fade in and out, while I can smell the warm spices more often. This agarwood smells nice, but it’s not very deep or complex. There is definitely a bit of benzoin and camphor in there as well, which are common ingredients in Japanese incense. I don’t really smell anything out of the ordinary.
While it certainly smells good, I wouldn’t say it’s unique among it’s peers.
Overall, I feel the scent is a little thin. It smells lovely, but this is a premium-priced product and I think I would have to burn two of these at one time to get a proper experience.
Conclusion
These are a high-quality incense, but due to thin fragrance, I think you could do better for the price.
Of course, that’s simply personal opinion.
I hope you found this information beneficial.
